I just got a new Sharp 60" TV (a welcome upgrade from a 15-year-old CRT toshiba tv) but already discovered that it can't just connect to a PC on the wireless network to stream its media. So I got the next best thing, an Asus box that can do that. But it connects with VGA, and I don't know if that can support playing back the HD media on my computer.

VGA can support more than just the 1920X1080 resolution.

Sorry, I meant that the box can use RCA and HDMI.

What about a certain dell laptop? It only does VGA, and if what you say is true it can achieve 1080p on the TV. But is it limited by its extremely weak 2.5 ghz core 2 duo t9300 or nvidia quadro fx 360m?

I have asus laptop with 1.8Ghz core 2 dou, ati hd 3470 playing blu-ray movie from an external blu-ray drive. I think yours is more powerful machine.

I'm not sure if this is the laptop you are referring too.
