Is anyone aware of a delete utility, preferably free, that would let me
delete all Calendar items that fit a certain pattern?

For example, if I want to delete all appointments containing the word
"Dentist" that have already taken place or all appointments in the category
"Business" that took place more than a month ago, is there a utility that
would find these appointments, list them, let me look at them individually
so that I can be absolutely sure that I want to delete them, then let me
delete just the ones I still want to delete?

If such a utility exists, could someone direct me to it?

DateBk5 will do this.
Menu, Options, View Display Options.
Add a check mark to the Find checkbox and enter the text to find. Tap OK
Now the only things listed will have that text string.

v.5.1b,s7,
It has been there since DateBk3.
It is a check-box, tap it and a text field is displayed.

I've been using it since DateBk3. It was there, It is there, it will
always be there.

There seems to be a disconnect.

I and at least one other guy do not see a Find checkbox under
Menu, Options, View Display Options. I cannot locate such a checkbox
*anywhere* in Datebk5. Now I can certainly use the Palm OS Find to
locate text in DateBk5 (and anywhere else). But this is clearly not
what you describe (and not what the original poster was looking for). I
don't doubt that *you* have it. But I can assure you that *I* do not
have it. Neither of us knows why.

Regards,

-Doug

It is not there in my V-5.1b,s1 either.

I think Doug's instructions are confused. You can find the Find by going
to View #6 (the List View Display), hit the Opt. button which brings you
to the "List View Display Options" panel. It's about center screen
there.

Of course I meant to say Jim's.

And to the OP's request re:category selection, that is under the Options
for any view - cmd-6 or cmd-2 to select categories to be displayed.

Aha! There it is. I rarely use the List view and would likely never
have found it. Thanks!

Jim forgot to mention that this option exists only in List View.
