Dell optiplex gx270 goes south (not for the winter), when installing win xp
after a few minutes of install.
screen goes blank.
normally, when starting computer, clears win xp logo, then goes blank. Does not get to desktop.

testing HDD, with Hirens,
weak power supply?
capacitor?
for an old computer, its fast!

customer bought used off kijii!

Could be any of those 3, plus RAM, CPU, etc... Just need to try different things.

Will probably end up costing more than a new PC.

ram is good, its trying to find parts for a circa 03 machine. customer has given ok to salvage computer. Its the hard drive I am trying to get to,. Going to try to install HDD into another computer.
