Hello,
I am helping a senior connect her new hp desktop and the monitor lights up but says, "no signal" yet the modem is hooked up properly. The instructions are in Chinese? I think it may have something to do with my hooking up a Dvin and a y-gas (?) instead of one or the other. Please help me

I think you need to have someone familiar with computers to help her hook it up. The PC tower is not a "modem", and you are maybe talking about DVI and VGA connections. Should be easy enough though, just plug in one or the other cable into the PC, same cable to the monitor, turn on both.
