Hello,
i had a surround sound system from Dell with a huge and heavy subwoofer that powered the 5 speakers. subwoofer is now very dead (makes continuous bass noise that could raise the dead). altec lansing, no model number. says THX and lucasfilms (of all things) on the front. Is there any way to power the speakers without trying to replace this monster?

If the subwoofer has a power adapter supplying power to the other speakers, then you must repair this power adapter or replace it.
