As some of you may know from my previous posts, I am researching notebooks and components. I'd like to get some peoples recommendations for a notebook around $2000. The things I find important in order of importance are:
1. Quality
2. Performance/Speed (Work & Play)
3. Battery Life
4. Size/Weight (Mobile but not Ultra light).
5. Display
6. Graphics Performance (Like Games, but not a big gamer).

Here is a list of notebooks I've considered:

IMB T40
Dell 600m
Gateway 450X
Gateway 200 (integrated video - doesn't sound good)

I guess what it comes down to is trade offs if I want to stay within a price range. For a laptop, I really want good performance since I'll be using it to do work that may be demanding at times. My old laptop is a Toshiba with a 16 MB ATI card and it plays games okay, but not like a good desktop. If I really wanted to be a big gamer, I'd buy a desktop as well :-) I guess if people have some good/bad experiences with notebooks please let me know and definately let me know if you heard of a good options I've missed.

I agree on the Dell Inspiron 600m, but perhaps you should also look at the Dell Latitude D600, which is all but the same thing.
