Lost the sound on my computer it is a gateway

some one has gotton on my gateway desktop computer and now my sound is gone can you help

look in control panel -> hardware and sound -> sound.

make sure your sound is turned all the way up. this can be done by going into "adjust system volume"

check and see if your speakers have been disabled. this can be done by going into "manage Audio devices" then go into properties at the bottom right.


Play some music while playing with the settings, chances are someone muted it.


Have you updated your graphics card lately? I upgraded my graphics card (maybe it was my video card) and i lost sound, turns out it was a bad Video card/Graphics card.
