Forum Systems : Packard Bell Packard Bell service manual

Hi

I have been given a Packard Bell laptop to repair, the problem appears to be the DC jack. I have accessed the PB FTP site where, apparently, the service manuals are available, but cannot find a trace of the one corresponding to this model. The only identifying marks are:

EasyNote E5146SE
Model: MIT-LYN02

If anyone can point me in the correct direction I would be very grateful.

Thanks in advance.

If it's the usual kind of coaxial dc socket with just two conductors these come in a variety of sizes but most are available -- suggest visiting an electronics hobby store and taking the power supply with you. Most have standard pin layout for soldering to the motherboard and centre pin on the socket is positive.l

Thanks for the tip.

Once I realised it was a E5 series finding a manual was easy, got it here

Useful site, seems this PB is straightforward to dismantle.
