Hello,
I think I must be stupid but Icannot set my SB800 up to shooti in ttl/bl mode no matter what I seem to do can anybody please guide me through the procedure

The SB800 is like a little computer. I have the similar SB600 which is dedicated for my Nikon D70s whereas the SB800 is not. This might have something to do with what you are experiencing. It took me more than 4 hours reading and studying the manual before I was comfortable with it.

You may need to spend more time studying the manual.

TTL/BL only available when:

1. Flash is on camera and both are on.
2. Metering mode is center weighted or matrix.
3. Metering mode is not spot metering.
4. Auto FP is not selected i.e. not ON. (On Camera body setting)
