hi, i am going to be shooting low light and racecar track photos - i am looking to upgrade from film camera to digital SLR (maybe Canon 60D or 7D) -- any suggestions for camera/lenses. Alot of "night" photos.

Along with fast lenses, you need to look into tripods as well as 'image stabilizers' (aka anti- vibration) built-in. This involves quite a bit of technical reading in order to get the picture (no pun intended).
