Hey all,

So I have a Microsoft VX-3000 webcam, and it seems that the built-in mic isn't working, or at least only working intermittently. When I use it (like over Messenger), it sometimes starts off working ok, but then within about 5 minutes my chat partner can't hear me anymore. Also, the little microphone 'slider' in the chat window indicates that no sound is being picked up.

So I'm wondering if there's a way to override the VX-3000's built-in mic with another one? I have a simple desktop mic by Nexxtech that I was hoping to make use of. Or, am I destined to replace the webcam with another?
