Well i have decided to switch from my logitech trackman to a mouse for my gaming. I currently have a mx1000 that I would use for everything but games and would use my trackman for gaming. I am looking at the g7 and the g5. I have always had problems with wired mice in the past as the cord always got in my way, but who knows maybe something has changed. Been a while since i used a wired mouse. I need some suggestions on gaming mice. What is everyone using? What would you reccomend and why?

I own a G7, and it's absolutely wonderful, but for a gaming mouse now, I'd go for the G9. Wonderful feel, great software, and more functionality than the G5/G7.
