Hello,
what does this mean/do? I have an X2gen monitor and it has this ability...

It just means the monitor or PC can send or receive a video signal using either a standard VGA (Dsub 15 pin connector) or a DVI (slightly different connector that provides a pure digital output) to the device.

Late model monitors and graphics cards now use the DVI or HDMI format rather than the older VGA.
