Here is:
1. My story
2. My question

1. My story:
I used some good color CRT monitors in the last 15 years, never been a fan of LCD (even in work I got LCD and switched it to CRT).

The only LCD i used were on my laptop which got stolen.

ANYWAY, after my laptop gone, and my CRT got f***ed -
I've bought a new PC (Q6600, 4GB Corsair DDR II, Abit QuadGT MB, Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme CPU cooler...etc)

But I didn't bought new monitor, so in the meanwhile I used Samsung CRT's:
SyncMaster 955DF and SyncMaster 1100P monitors -
which ALMOST MADE ME BLIND (that most be the monitors Stevie been using :sarcastic: ) after few hours of use for a few days
(and I am working with computers for over 18 years, and never had eye problems, don't even got glasses). :fou:

2. :o My question:
My needs for a Monitor are:
A. Casual PC working (Reading, Writing, Firefox....) - 80% (around 8-10 hours a day, that's my job)
B. Photoshop / Other Image editing software - 15%
C. Video & Video edit - 5%

For the last day or two, I have checked around 1000 reviews for LCD screens - and It looks from those old reviews on the net that NEC 20WGX2 will be the best choice for me (also caught my eye: Viewsonic VX2025wm) - but both kind of OLD choice.

Here in my ISRAEL they both cost over 750$ at the moment.

other models:
Dell 2007WFP - cost 510$
Samsung SyncMaster 226BW - cost 410$

VX2255wmb - looks like a good choice, but is not on sale.

What should I do? to get a old model monitor like 20WGX2 for such high price worth it?
I need a monitor before I'll get blind from those Samsung's.

Thanks!

I've never had any problems with any of my LCD's, they look great, if you do a lot of reading then turn down the brightness and any will do just fine...It's basicaly what you like....I've got a 28" ViewSonic and its amazing. really practical aswell as you can read many articles side by side, photoshop is also really good on it, but it does come with a hefty sum. If you want something cheaper, get a smaller LCD, they are basicaly all good. I personaly like Samsung cause the case looks neat...:p
