I don;t know much about which is better but I know no card can touch the quadro FX. AT work (I'm a game tester, I test for bugs and stuff) I use a dell precision T5700 workstation
dual intel xeon 3.33 ghz
192 GB DDR3 SDRAM
Dual nvidia quadro FX 4GB (8GB total)
creative sound blaster x-Fi titanium sound card
( I need all this to make the ultimate gaming experience so I can test for bugs)

You'll get many opinions in both directions. Some prefer ATI, while other swear by NVIDIA. Personally, I've used both brands in the past, but this time I around I went for ATI because it offered the performance I needed for a decent price. In the futire, it could easily change.

Hi newcomer and welcome to the Tom's hardware forum.

For work station is better use nVidia quadro, currently i'm working with a dual Xeon 2.8GHz and a nVidia quadro, 3x500GB in RAID 5 and 2x110GB in a mirror (for OS)

ATI just seems to provide better price/performance. NVIDIA is overpriced.

I agree with aford10 but the two companies seem to be going after different markets. In my opinion, ATI is better suited to the PC gaming market whereas NVIDIA is better suited toward high performance computing PCs. That is the impression I got when deciding to buy an ATI card back in Sept 2009.
