the panasonics look like the better image quality there. the fs3s seems good.

whats the power over there? will the chargers etc work with UK power?

More Information

B&H photo and Video is a good place to buy from.

As far as power, here it's 120VAC @ 60HZ.

i think in uk its 230? this gonna be a problem? or will they have a switch/auto adgust thing?

More Information

on reviews, the Canon IXUS 85 IS seems fantastic.

anyone tell me what its going for over in USA?

More Information

You are correct about UK voltage. 240VAC @ 50HZ. The charger for my camera will work with both voltages, but I believe your sockets are different than ours, so you might need an adapter to be able to plug it in.

As for the price, it shouldn't be very hard to find on the internet. check cnet.com

adaptors are fine. i could even chop the end of and put a uk plug on it. as long as it works on uk voltage.

i cant find the Canon IXUS 85 IS on cnet

I admit stephenstern, I didn't spend much time searching, but that model number seems strange. I wonder if it is a UK model? I did find a bit of info on it, but nothing on the USA Canon website.

Where will you be in the US?

orlando, florida, :) i think its 850 IS?

More Information

Most transformers that is sold in AMERICA now a days have Auto Voltage or Dual Voltage the only thing you might need is the adaptor that plug to the wall socket/outlet.

Note: If you think that the price of the camera you're getting from the US is not that far from what you get at UK then I would sudgest to get it from UK instead of the US. Warranty and Return Policy comes to mind, you'll never know if you need one of those service before whatever or whichever policy expired. Check with CANON UK if warranty applies 100 percent of the product you get from abroad.

850 IS is a good camera, hopefully you'll enjoy much what the it's offering and not bothered of what you think you are missing from it.

Here is a deal from Newegg on the SD870IS. From what I can tell, it's the same camera with a bigger screen. Maybe the 870 is a bit newer than the 850? At any rate, it's $259 + $9 shipping and comes with a 2gig card.
