Jim Buzbee found that this media adapter covers the basics, but lacks UPnP AV and wide format support.

I own a MediaMVP, and I can tell you that I love it. The only thing to note here, is that I never installed the Hauppauge software at all. I use SageTV in my home, and it downloads a mediaMVP version of sage to the unit on power on. Takes buying a special sage liscense for the unit, but it works amazingly, fully supporting virtually any SageTV plugin, and skin. I have a full PC client in my living room for my HD viewing, but in the bedroom, where all I have is a 19" SDTV, the MediaMVP is the perfect solution.

Yeah GBPVR support Media MVP as well although I have never used an MPVR on it myself you can't beat free software.

so CraziFuzzy do you have any problems with any divx or xvids? have you updated firmware since you got it? please let me know

divx and xvid do work, but, they require recompression on the server. The MVP only decodes MPEG and MPEG2, so that is a hardware limitaion, not firmware.. as for the firmware, I am using SageTV, which loads its own software onto the MVP. I don't really watch anything that isn't MPEG2 on it anyways, as it is just my bedroom tv, and mostly just watch live/recorder tv on it.
