I am fixing a laptop, a Compaq V3016US and I just reformatted and reinstalled windows XP. I still have the LCD screen flickering. Does anybody know what could be causing this?

there could be several causes. first thing that comes to mind is an incorrect refresh setting in the video driver. the other thing could be hardware related, the inverter cable could be loose however this is rare and I've only ever encountered it once. I'd go and look at the video settings closesly hope this helps.

I going with refresh rate troubles. Go to display settings and make sure its set at 60 hz
