Hi all,

I've got a IBM ThinkPad T61 .
recently , It just cut off.
when I'm working, it just power down.
I looked at the adapter and nothing is wrong it all connected as it is .

It happened when I'm connected to the wall socket.

the event viewer doesn't show any strange error .
the charger is connected as it should be.
the PC CAN work with the battery.

so I really cant figure it out why does it happening..

any ideas?

maybe its get hot ? maybe there is a short circuit in the computer?

how can I test it ?

Best regards,
Noam

Well, a thermal event is a possibility, but less so on a laptop unless there's something wrong with the fan or the processor is no longer getting good contact with the heatsink (the Compaq 1700 series had this problem). EDIT: forgot to mention, if you're not already, you can use a program called SpeedFan to monitor your temperatures.

Another possibility is a power event, such as a surge. I recommend using a UPS or a REALLY good surge protector, if you aren't already.

HI,
Thanks for your reply.

I found the problem.
I had a memory issue which shut down the PC.
it gave me a BSOD writing IRQ is not equal or something like that.
after that I searched the net and found it out.

thanks ,
Noam
