First can I say hi to the forum, I have had a good read of the other treads but couldn't see anything relevant. I am about to upgrade my laptop and need a machine that can successfully convert digital video tape to DVD (plus all the normal home useage activities).  
Is there a recommendation that you might have for both laptop and software (to convert the tape to DVD).
