So I am thinking about sitting outside one of my favorite retailers and trying to buy a really cheap laptop.

This one is going to be around $250 bucks... is it worth it? Or with Vista is it going to crawl and generally be annoying?

That thing will crawl with Vista. Not worth it IMO.
