Who's still waiting for their new laptop?

I've been waiting for about 3 weeks now.

I placed my initial order on 7/2/07 - has been delayed 3x. Current estimated ship date is 8/28/07, but I have no confidence in this date.

You know what's delaying alot of these stupid things? The Frickin' colour!

I parted out and ordered one for a friend last month, and now it's got an ETA of Aug 27th, over a month for a laptop is ridiculous and definitely not worth the new colour schemes. Voodoo's custom detailing I could undestand, but this what should be a generic high volume feature should've been figured out and anticipated before PR launch.

It's not the first time, they should've anticipated this after the run on Plum and Tngerine iMACs.

I've seen mention of paint quality isssues (dust), but still c'mon, you need to mention that when people place their order.

It could be the paint and I have also heard that the LCD screens are in short supply. I would believe the LCD one since Dell uses Samsung for some of their screens. The screen on my Sager is made by Samsung and my laptop was delayed because of the screen. I've also heard it's the CPU for some, but I have a hard time believing that since Dell is one of the first to get new CPUs.

Yeah the thing is she was actually told it was 'cause she ordered a colour (which is really the reason she picked DELL against my advice [found here a cheaper/better config]).

So sounds like they are having their own 'perfect storm' of errors/issues.
