I need a mobile solution.

It ought to be small. Small laptop. Screen does not matter. small = good.

Must have:

DVD drive and burner, RJ 45 Networking, RS232 Serial plug, Wireless.

Price don't matter...Size does!

The smallest one I could find with a serial port was the Toshiba Tecra M9, it's 14.1"

Smaller laptops just don't have the space for a legacy port, they all use USB. You can find adaptors though, so that might be an option.

IT is basically what I'm looking for. But I was also very intrigued with the new lenovo X300 that's on toms frontpage right now. But I guess this one is yet due to appear in hsops...

im a big fan of Dell's M1330s but...still no legacy port.

Yes unfortunately it has not; but it's one hell of a machine imo. Too expensive, though.
