Which video card did you get? I would wager you're GPU limited... not CPU limited. Or maybe RAM. |

The 5500 will be fine. The merom cores difference is about the same difference as their conroe counterparts, so you could look at the CPU charts if you want to see if it's worth it. If you're not gaming, nor doing heavy video editing or any other multimedia app (which I doubt since you're using a laptop) then just get the 5500. |

Use Omega drivers. I think they're better than the standard ATI drivers, or at least with my 9700pro... |

But then there is a $200 difference between the one that is included in the price and the one which I have marked as "Selected". I have selected the 2 Ghz for kicks and thot fast begin amazingly fast . But then if there is no much diff between that and one included in the price, why buy it in the first place. Thats why i am in 2 minds now. Have to book it by end of the day. So can you guys tell me where I may find a difference, with an example as $200 means a lot to me...

The 1300 only has 64 MB of RAM if I remember correctly... with the remainder coming from shared memory. That said... if you only have 1 GB of RAM, you'll have even less than that free once your video card gets finished with you... so maybe you're RAM limited. |

With Vista, you're going to want 2GB RAM far more than the T7200 over the T5500.. especially with your video memory being shared. Upgrade the memory to 2GB-533MHz, stick with the T5500. |

well something to consider with that is the 667 Mhz fsb and that RAM is easy to upgrade yourself, while a CPU is much lessor so. A gig of RAM $120 maybe for top of the line, a CPU $300 is more in line. |
