Yes! We have a cream for that.

Hello,

I am looking at buying an entry handheld. I was looking at a Z22 but I wanted voice recording and the ability to attach a keyboard. Thus, I decided to go with the X51.

Before purchasing, I have a few questions.

I need an audible alarm for all of my scheduled appointemtns. I know the z22 and tungsten can do that, but can the x51?

Also, with a new PPC, should I be buying things such as screen protectors, hard or soft cases, or a replacement plan? If I get a case, I will need to be able to hear the alarm through the case and a thin backpack so if you could recommend based on that, it would be great.

Lastly, I plan on using the voice recorder for about an hour every day and will be out of the house about 12 hours per day. With that in mind, should I be looking at an upgraded battery or expanded memory?

Thanks a lot for any input.

Sincerely,
Chad

P.S. If, based on what I need, you think I should look at a different handheld (palm or ppc) I am open to any input. :?:

It's all built into Windows Mobile 5 (WM5) which is far superior than Palm OS.

If you use a hard case then you probably won't need a screen protector. Hard case also protects your PDA very well when dropped.
As long as you're careful you shouldn't need to buy extended warranty/care.
Although major accidents do happen once in a while, depending on price, IMO it's not worth it.

I can hear my X51v screaming through the PDAir Aluminium case.

Contintous usage with backlight at minimum, my X51v would last just over 6hrs straight. Depending on how often you use it 12hrs outside should last.
There's of course the 2200mAh (needs a different hardcase) and Mugen 3600mAh for purchase if needed.

I tried out the Palm LifeDrive and found it wasn't flexible at all compared to WM5 based PDA. And also I was addicted to the VGA screen which the X51v offered. As of now the software offerings for WM5 are now better than Palm OS so that's another reason why I went with X51v.

Special features of X51v:
-3D gaming (the only PDA powered by Intel 2700G)
-624Mhz CPU
-Gorgeous VGA screen (looks like paper)
-Capable of video output using presentation cable

If you have the budget, go with the X51v. It has everything you'll ever need in a PDA and you won't look back and regret.
