I have a ripped DVD on Cd in .divx format, but I can't seem to figure out how the person who encoded it got it to this format.

Using FlaskMPEG I can only get the file into AVI format, but I thought that I had to get it to .divx format to get it really small. Am I way off the mark here?

There is a difference between what somethings extention is and what is really in the file. Just because something says "x.mpg or x.avi" does not mean that those files are M.P.E.G. or Audio Video Interlaced files. Flask uses the .avi extention no matter which codec is used to encode the video weather it be divx or indeo or any of the many other choices available in Flask.
