I have a replaytv 5500 series dvr. Since I do not have a phone or
ethernet line near the tv, I purchased a Netgear ME101 wireless bridge
to connect to the RTV.

I tested the bridge out on a laptop and the signal is very strong -
works with no problem. However, when I hook up the bridge to the RTV,
it shows no connection, either on the ethernet port or on the bridge
itself.

When I connect the RTV directly to the router (not wirelessly) I am
able to get a connection. I don't understand what I am doing wrong....

If anyone has an idea, please let me know. Thanks much...

After you plug the RTV into the ME101, UNplug the ethernet cable from
the RTV, then unplug the RTV power cord from the wall. Plug the
Ethernet cable back into the RTV then plug the RTV power cord back into
the wall outlet. That should do the trick.

The replays do not like using wireless connections... It has been done,
but it's not fun. They prefer wires... I'm ordering my new Motor Home
with a CAT-5 or 6 (Manufacturer's choice) from the front to rear video
cabinets so that I can put my replays in it when I move in

One end (Depending on where I hide the computer) will get either a
router (if the link to the internet antenna is wired) or the switch (if
wireless) If I use the switch then I'll need a wireless access point for
the internet antenna. I'm in negotiation with it's maker now (I hope)
round one though, waiting for their replay

A router is a good idea in any case. You'll need a switch too,
although most routers come with one (usually for 4 devices) in the
same box now.

I don't know specifically about a wireless antenna link, but that
unnecessary use of wireless is nearly always a bad idea.

Agreed, I spoke with the internet sat. antenna company today (Free call
for me even if I don't use thier 800 number, and I did not)

She thinks I'll be able to hard wire to my router, but to be honest she
did not seem to know much about the internet interfaces on the device

(Web page says one thing, Sales girl another... Oh well, she's supposed
to be sending me some more accurate info)

I'm hoping this thing works cause of all the hardware I've looked at,
and I've looked, literally, at tons of hardware, this thing is the most
amazing of the lot... It allows me to access the internet while doing
the speed limit on a freeway (or for that matter breaking it) should I
wish, And though I can not type and drive at the same time.... I can
drive and listen to the radio... www.live365.com (As a premium member I
do not have to put up with all the spyware/adware installing ads that
non paying members have to put up with)

It should be nearly as good as XM radio for me

The internet radio should be fine (that is, assuming you don't have a
#$%^! internet service like Starband was).
