Archived from groups: alt.video.ptv.replaytv (More info?)

I am lookin to build a dvarchive server with Linux Redhat 7.2, 8, or 9. Here
are my two hardware options but I would like to use the laptop if possible:

1. Toshiba Tecra 730 laptop
130 Mhz P 1 ( yea.. that's a big fat ONE)
40 mb ram (maxed)
HD-- big fat firewire HD
Red Hat 7.2

2. Gateway desktop
500 Mhz PIII
512 mb ram (maxed)
HD-- big fat firewire HD
Red Hat 9

Like I said, I would like to use the laptop due to it's size but I can't seem to
find any info as to what is the absolute minimum. I went to:

and there is no mention as to what kind of hardware they suggest. If anyone
from dvarchive.org is reading this, you guys are sorely lacking in this respect.
