[Solved] Rural Location...Wireless with dial up.
Forum Wireless Networking : General Discussion [Solved] Rural Location...Wireless with dial up.
We have just moved to a rural location in Maryland's Eastern Shore from a metropolitan broadband accessible location. Hard to believe that only 7 miles from town, there is no broadband available. Our options are satellite, broadband wireless radio frequency internet. and Earthlink dial up. None of the choices offer 100%, so what to do. Reviews on all are not the great.
Seems the cheapest, most reliable is dial up, as it is. Any suggestions? thanks
Dial up would be my last choice, next to last satellite, better Clear if you are in a good or better area, best dsl or cable.

Thanks for your info. Checked on both DSL and Cable....none available.

Clear not an option. No 4G either. We can get 3G on IPads, though not reliable.
Take a look at HUGHES satellite basic plan, it is price competitive with dsl or cable and much faster than dial-up.
