In mid-June, I responded to a post by one Jeffrey Eustis, of Conway, AR,
regarding some laserdiscs he had for sale. We made a deal and I sent the
$75 we agreed upon, which was deposited on July 12. I was told that the
discs were shipping, but they have not arrived yet.

I've e-mailed several times to at least find out how they were shipped,
but so far I've not received any responses since July 12.

From what I've researched, it seems from past listings that this Eustis
was a stand-up guy... is there anyone in this forum who has dealt with
him before?

(couldn't resist) But seriously, I checked www.anywho.com and there is
a J. Eustis of Conway and there is a phone number listed... (not nice to list
this in Nag's), so look it up and call the guy. Other than that, your only
recourse is to have your bank deal with it. Good Luck.

Thanks for the tip... the address checks out, but the number has been
disconnected - probably changed and now unlisted, since directory
assistance couldn't find anyone by that name on that street.

I've sent several e-mails; I'll check with my bank in the morning. I
have the feeling that this will turn out to be one of those 'valuable
lessons' that we all learn from time to time.

if you sent payment through the US postal service, contact the postal
inspector for that and file a complaint. mail fraud is a felony regardless
of the amount of money involved.

Absolutely. The Mail Fraud form can be found and filed online on the
www.usps.com website, and it does work. The fraudster will receive
word from the USPS within a month. If you receive payment after
filing, you can close your case with the papers USPS sends you when
you file. All this is free.

I purchased 3 discs in mid-June.
Naked City, Two-Lane Blacktop & Galaxy of Terror
I paid promptly via paypal and received the discs around the first of July.
He took care
to remove the discs from the jackets and pack carefully. Everything arrived
in great shape.

No problems with Jeffrey here.....
