Konnichiwa,

just got myself a Olympus mju 500 (or mju-40, as it's called here in
Japan) from Akihabara/Tokyo, and have a problem:

When powering ON, the resolution is always set to highest 2560x1920, as
default.
Even if I change it to whatever, after power OFF/ON it's back to
2560x1920 again... already after one day I find it a bit annoying...

Is there any way to change the default resolution at power up???? There
MUST be, can't think this is the way it's supposed to work!
(have flipped through the manual, but didn't find anything useful)

Hi...

I don't know your particular model, but with all of the Olympus's I have
you can go to the menu, select the 'camera' tab, and find an option
named 'all reset'.

Set all reset to OFF and it should be as you like it.

Ken,
what can I say...THANKS a million! It works!
Don't know how many hours I waisted, playing with the menus, reading
the manual...
A friend suggests "why don't you try some of the news groups...".
So I did (first time poster, ever!), and 20 min later there is the
solution...

Thanks again, Ken.
