Has anyone used Import Cell? I was thinking about using them to upgrade my
V300 to the V600 software and get it unlocked at the same time, since it is
included in the cost...any experiences with them? Is there work guaranteed?

Yes, I have used Importcell's flashing and unlocking service. It was
on a very locked-up phone that a friend brought back from UK. Not
only did the service work, but the existing phone memory was backed up
and restored, and the local WAP settings were loaded up and ready to
use. I'm in Ottawa, so I was able to visit in person and check that
everything was functioning (on both Rogers and Fido) before leaving.

I also bought a phone (Panasonic GD55 -- damn, that's tiny!) and
returned it (turns out I really want 850MHz) with no hassle at all.
Note that I got an agreement ahead of time for a full refund if I
didn't like it. The Web site notifies of a restocking fee in general,
which I would say is appropriate for a specialised service that's
often done through the mail.

Importcell even lent me an older phone for a week so that I could go
to cottage country and check out the Rogers coverage, using my Rogers
PAYG card (I'm a Fido subscriber). Uh, I wouldn't assume that that's a
general offer. :-)

I plan on returning there to purchase my next handset, after I finally
decide what I really want.

Some models (e.g. Nokia 3100) have variations that offer 850MHz
instead of 900.
