[RADEON 6670]Screen freezes and Catalyst says display was reset
Forum Graphic & Displays : AMD Radeon [RADEON 6670]Screen freezes and Catalyst says display was reset
I recently bought a Radeon HD 6670 since my last card completely died on me about a month ago. When I installed it on my previous system, the screen would crash every time I attempted to start up a game, and Catalyst would give me the message, "Display driver system driver AMD has stopped responding and successfully recovered".
I decided to upgrade my entire machine (since I needed to badly anyhow) and was hoping that the problem would be a compatibility issue. With the new system, I am still getting the exact same resets, even when I'm idle at the desktop sometimes.
Something to note: Since installing my new mobo, display adapters in the device manager is showing a Intel(HD) Graphics Family. I've tried disabling/uninstalling, but when completely uninstalled it shows an unknown video controller in other devices.
Things I've tried:
Checking the card temp idle and under stress (seems fine compared to what I've read)
The Driver Cleaner/Re-install steps here :
Updating to the newest Catalyst version (12.1)
Attempting to alternate between display input in the bios (allows pci-e, pci, on-board choices)
Uninstalling/disabling Intel(HD) Graphics Family
Alternating the PCI-E slots and going through the above steps
I've included my dxdiag in the spoiler since I didn't seen an attachment area. Thanks for anyone willing to help me; it's greatly appreciated.
Motherboard: ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI S
