Hello,
A friends system runs on DDR2 memory and he purchased a video card with DDR3, will it be compatable. His card arrived but will not post at all and I was just wondering if the DDR2-3 makes a difference. I have never used anything that old so I am at a loss. It sounds more like a DOA video card.

No. The system RAM is absolutely unrelated to video RAM. Does the computer not turn on at all?

Nah, it is plugged in, seated correctly and it does not post at all, I think he just got a DOA card, I have never had a bad one so it is just a surprise . Getting another, wil see if it is the problem, thx for the reply!
