right so here's what im thinking of getting for my build. im going for a lot of power here haha

i7 2600k

asus gtx 570

corsair hx750 750 watt power supply

asus P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 ATX board

cooler master haf 922 case

wd caviar black 1tb hard drive (sketchy about this because there is a lot of mixed reviews on newegg... other suggestions welcome)

g.skill ripjaws series 8gb (2x4gb) ddr3 1600

cooler master hyper 212 plus 120mm sleeve cpu cooler

asus vs248h-p monitor

microsoft sidewinder x4 keyboard

and i am thinking about the logitech g9x mouse (again need some suggestions)


so what do you guys think? good? not good? will this blow up my house when assembled? any incite is welcome :)

If this is strictly for gaming, the i5-2500k is just as good.

If you were thinking of adding a second 570 card, 850 watts would be a little better. Provide a little cushion.

Caviar Black is about the best out there right now, although they are not as flawless as they used to be. You have to read the reviews on Newegg carefully and apply common sense as some of them make no sense.

Logitech G anything is always good. Just try some out in person to see what fits your hand best. You can always buy on line unless you find a better price in store

for what are u building gaming or video edit. If gaming then i5 2500k is a good choice.and a 932 or haf x or 912 or storm trooper it has dust filters which are recomended.

There is a 5 year warranty on that Hard Drive, I believe. And its one of the most popular Hard Drives on the market. With it being so popular there are bound to be a few weird ones.

i agree. i've got two 750gb blacks in raid and they have worked just fine. warning: they will most likely be louder than other hard drives.

Looks like BD fx - 8150 and i5 2500k are pretty similar in terms of gaming performance add in the additional average cost of an Intel platform and slightly higher cost of the 8150 chip and looks like AMD and Intel offer up pretty even results on average as far as gaming as I have outlined and double certified above with link provided.

You selected games which are GPU dependent, so the CPU is irrelevant. A Core i3 could score the same. Cinebench is also fond of more cores, so FX gets the edge there.
