Hello, I currently own a Vizio 50 inch 1080i plasma, I would like to build a gaming PC for $700 and get good performance at 1080i. I also will be streaming HD. I like a wide spectrum of games from the graphics intensive FPS to processor punishing strategy simulations like europa universalis and its ilk. What components are best for gaming on a big HDTV? Is AMD better bang for buck or would it definitely be better to go with intel? Thank you in advance for your help.

The only way you can overclock is if you go for the 2500K and that will run an extra $50 - pushing the budget to $800. With that you will need a cooler - something like the Hyper 212 Evo.

The i5-2400 that I linked to is not an unlocked CPU which means that it cant be overclocked, and with that you're fine using the stock cooler.
