650$ PC and a cpu Question

Hey i have a question? What is better for me to use a HD Pvr 1212 a i5 2500 or a 130$ i3 2120 w Hyper threading? Im leaning towards the i3 because i have 600 to 650$ I also want to use a 6750 because i might want to do some light gaming.

i3 2120 or i5 2500
Asus H67 mobo
HIS 6750
8gb 1333 ram
ocz 550w psu

i want to know if the i3 hyper threading will be as gooid a i5 2500k im geetting the 2500k because im building a basic pc so next year ill get a better case and gfx card etc

No, of course an i3 is not as good as a 2500K. What would be the point? :P However, the i3 is sufficient.

No the I5 2500k is better than the I3 but the I3 is good enough if you're limited with money. The I5 2500k can be heavily overclocked the I3 can't. The I5 2500k is a quad core so in CPU intensive games it won't be maxed out. Games use two to three cores so in CPU intensive games a dual core might start to max out and bottleneck. A quad core I5 won't really bottleneck in CPU intensive games. Still most games aren't very CPU intensive so an I3 is still very good for gaming.

Yes stick with an i3 for a htpc build using a H67 mobo.
The 2120 is a good cpu..
