I just put in an Asus p8z68-v pro and an i7 2600k, and I power on and it shuts down, starts up and nothing happens? I have 1200w of power.

It sounds as of the thermal paste wasn't put on right, or the fan isn't clicked in all the way. Take the CPU out, (Carefully). Re-seat and re-paste. Then make sure it is clicked in all the way.

Note: Be super careful, I'd hate for you to damage something on my account. Which is why I hate suggesting to re-seat.
