Hi all

i have a USB HD far away from my computer and instead of connecting
with cable salad, I have thought of using bluetooth. The HD is not in
a computer, but integrated in an electronic keyboard.

Is there a Bluetooth adapter/dongle/whatsoever which I can stick to
the USB port of the HD in order to make it accessible from my
computer??

How big is your harddisk ? Take care that current bluetooth products are far
below 1 MBit/s, so you can calculate how long you need to transfer a few
(big) files to your hard disk...

Have a look for WLAN solutions !

Bluetooth is too slow for that, and typically only good upto 10 feet.

i am not concerned about speed... I only need to transfer MIDI files,
which are 10-20Kb big.

Are there any BT Products??

I think I can remember a bluetooth harddisk from Toshiba, found on the
bluetooth qualification website some months ago. But never saw it
offered anywhere.

Agree BT is too slow for MASS transfer, but this user only wants <100Kb -
this would be fine. As to range, if you get Class 1 devices, these can be
good
for ONE HUNDRED meters - depends on building construction. Its class 0
devices that
are upto 10METERS not feet!)
