Hi,

Does anyone know anywhere where i can purchase the best bluetooth gear at
the best prices?

Also does anyone know anything about having a router attached to my modem so
i can access the internet via my laptop wirelessly?? And where i could
purchase such a item???

Many internet shops are selling bluetooth gear at good prices, but as to
wirelessly networking a Laptop to the internet, bluetooth is hardly
suitable, it can be done, but not too well. Look up wireless networking,
WiFi is massively more suited.

Depends on your situation. I had great experiences linking my Toshiba
A25-S207 through an X-Micro USB dongle to my SE Z600 and operating on the
net by GPRS from a wee island off the coast of Estonia. Of course a
broadband connection is far more preferable to a BT link, but I was off the
beaten track for a fortnight and I had no complaints about the quality of
the connection.

I have experimented with a BT link to my LAN and it's a clunky toy. Yes, it
does work but the technology is limited.

Let's be fundmentally reasonable. A connection using the 802.11b/g at 11Mbps
or BT at 1/1000th of the speed? It's a no-brainer.

Don't get me wrong. I am a BT user with the SE HCB-30 car kit installed for
7 months.

BT is a fantastic asset but it's a case of horses for courses. You don't use
a Bentley to plough a field!

Sorry!!!!

BT is NOT 1000 times slower than WiFi. I was thinking about my GPRS
connection. Dummy!

On another note, living in Estonia as I do I have to boast so much about the
public access WiFi in this country. Phenomenal coverage nationwide with free
access in every major town and petrol stations on the highways offering net
links. Sheer brilliance!
