Hi,

Our lab is planning to buy a large screen display (about 40" ),
to demonstrate the experiment result. The video input will be
from PC.

Could anyone give me some suggestion on which one to buy?

Plasma suffers from image burn if the display is static, LCD may be a
better option.

While I'm not able to give you a specific suggestion, the issue is the
electronics, not the actual display panel (e.g. it's not a plasma vs.
LCD issue)

The latest plasma's have fixed that problem by subtly moving or
alterning the display so that nothing is truly static at the pixel level.

[Interestingly, this is a variation of something that was done with
Monochrome Image Orthicon TV imaging tubes back in the early 1950's, to
prevent burn-in at the camera end]

Two other factors come to mind...

1) Cost - Plasmas are, in general, more expensive than LCDs.

2) Altitude - If you happen to live/work in a high altitude region,
