I am planning on buying a digital camcorder soon -- probably a Panasonic PV-DV401 or PV-DV601 unless someone tells me otherwise.
I am interested in being able to edit my video on my computer. I'd like to able to do relatively straight-forward stuff, mostly just cutting and pasting scenes. I would like to be able to output into multiple formats, however, including out to VHS tapes, into .avi format, and into VCD. Basically, I want to be able to make tapes, burn playable cds, and produce streamable video for a website. What video capture board and video editing software would you recommend? I'd like to spend under $500 if possible on the capture board and software.
