I have a Pentium 4 3.6Ghz CPU and I am not sure if my motherboard supports that speed. What would be the result if the motherboard only supports a 3.4Ghz CPU?

The CPU would most probably drop to 3.4Ghz, or the PC would shout beep codes at you like there's no tomorrow.

Is there an updated BIOS flash available, the last available BIOS should have covered that.

I have no idea. I bought a refurbished mobo, and new ram. The old mobo had bad caps and didn't work. Now the processor fan comes on when I turn the PC on from the PSU and the optical disk will come in and out but no signal on my new monitor. I have ordered a new front panel power switch assembly because that doesn't seem to work. I was wondering if it was maybe because the CPU may have too much Ghz for the motherboard?
