3 Beeps of Doom after Ram upgrade

Hello,

I recently added an additional 4GB of RAM to my DG33FB motherboard bringing my total to 8GB. I made sure that all four modules were the same -- Kingston 667's -- but upon rebooting, it wouldn't post and I got the dreaded three beeps signalling a memory error.

Upon shutting down and checking, I note that one of the modules was not properly installed. There is, however, no burn marks, smoke, carbon build up, and the contacts on the RAM modules are pristine.

Tried using only the old RAM, new ram, one stick at a time, two sticks in different configs, etc. nothing works.

What are the chances that I've fried my mobo? I've been reading mixed feedback on this as it still beeps, and apparently that's an indication that it's not completely gone. Is it just the RAMs? But unlikely that I would have burnt all 4, esp. with nary a physical mark.

look into your motherboard manual about error codes, beeps
that should point you in a right direction

i don't think you've fried anything. prob just some bad leftover bios settings. clear the cmos; either take out the battery and disconnect from power supply or use jumper pins. boot up with original ram configuration. if that works, then go into bios and up the memory voltage a bit & make sure stock timings are selected. then add the new memory.

Get in to the motherboard reinstall the old memory, Clear CMOS there are jumpers to do this, consult your motherboard's manual. After clearing CMOS turn your PC on and Hit delete or sometimes any of the function keys on the keyboard. Load optimized defaults and save settings then exit.
