hey guys

i am getting a new mobo. i have been told that i have to change or do something with windows when i transfer my harddrive( i don't have the money for all new software, im upgrading a brand new system anyway). could you guys help me out with the details

Register or log in to remove.

With a repair install of OS you can keep all your other software!

Insert windows installation media boot from it and select install, it will then find your win install and give an option to repair it or do a clean install, select repair.

i am upgrading a dell studio xps 7100, so would that be the recovery disk???

Recovery disk should have a repair option..

Theoretically your OEM windows license is only for your Dell motherboard!

so can i get another copy of windows and it not affect my current data or can i go about it some other way
