Will 1.45 vcore kill my cpu fast?

I'm running my 2600k at 5ghz with 1.45 Vcore, but a guy i know told me that my cpu would die fast with that voltage. but i thought i should ask here fist (my old intel qx 6700 was overclocked to 4 ghz from 2.66 and it still works). So i ask, will it burn out faster? if so how fast? if so, what voltage do you recommend? I want it to last like three years or so, then i don't care much

Yes. Anything over 1.4V exceeds the power the CPU was designed to use, so you are burning through it quickly. I'd recommend overclocking until you limit at about 1.4V, which should yield an OC of about 4.6GHz~4.8GHz.

If it was my CPU though, I'd not exceed the likes of 1.35V, giving an OC of around 4.5GHz.

Okey, now i sett the voltage to 1.39 @ 4.8, but under heavy load it jumps to ~1.42. I think its because i sett llc to 500 and vrm to extreme. Are this options also bad for the cpu as well?

No one can tell you how long it's going to last, any overclocking can come to a disastrous end at any time, or last as long as your 6700 has, if it will make you feel better you are not alone, I'm running the same 5.0ghz at the same 1.45v.

Intels max tested voltage is 1.520v so you are below that, welcome to the club!

If you go past 1.520v and burn it up, then I'd say yes your warranty is gone, but staying within Intels voltage limits, how could Intel possibly refuse to honor the warranty?

I've already seen voltages on auto exceed 1.520v, not even manually set, so some motherboards will push the voltage too high all by itself, and Intel still has to honor those CPU warranties.

If you take a good look at how Turbo Boost works, Intel is marketing a CPU that overclocks itself, so as long as you stay below 1.520v how could they not honor the warranty?

If you lap the CPUs heat spreader your warranty is gone, or physically alter the hardware aspect of the CPU, your warranty is gone, your overclock settings are done through your motherboard, there's really no way for Intel to know whether you overclocked it or not, unless you use way too much voltage and fry the CPUs electrical pathways.

4ryan6 pretty much nailed it but I will add on. I know NUMEROUS (including myself) people who are running above 1.5vcore and have been doing it for months at 100% cpu load. My buddy who does folding has his 2600k at 5.1ghz and 1.52vcore. He folds 24/7 which means his cpu is at 100% load 24 hours a day. He has had that cpu for 9 months so far.

You are good up to a much higher temp than that. Keep it below 75 and it will last a long time.
