2.5 Ghz NB on gigabyte 990fx ud3?

Forum Overclocking : Motherboards 2.5 Ghz NB on gigabyte 990fx ud3?

My first attempt at overclocking my 1045t:

I increased the FSB to where the CPU was running just under 3.4 Ghz (think the value was 250), changed the timings on my patriot "sector 5" RAM to 9-9-9-24 to run at 1332 (I, wanted 1333 but that's where the multiplier/fsb got me)

I was surprised to see that I could leave the other two variables (One was the HT and I thought the other was the NB) in "auto" with the target fq's showing 2000 in the BIOS. So I just let the MB do its thing.

It runs well with these settings, (although 20 minutes of prime 95 put core temps into the low 50's :ouch: ...I'll look into some better cooling) but CPUZ shows 2500 as the value for NB under the speed tab.

I thought I read somewhere that the NB limit is 2000.

I'm I going to hurt the MB? Do I need to make changes to bring the NB down to 2000? (the HT fq is 2000)

*I have not messed with voltages.

Register or log in to remove.

I spoke with Gigabyte tech support and they said it was fine.
