There is a large blue area across the screen under the taskbar. Using XP on a HP6000pro. Have changed desktop properties and other setting to no avail. I want to remove that area so my taskbar appears at the bottom of my screen. Thanks for any help.

Register or log in to remove.

Is it just the expanded taskbar that was dragged up to be thicker or an actual desktop blue area under it? You can click and drag down the top of the taskbar to narrow it again to it's normal height.

Or is this a blue area around the whole perimeter of the screen?

This blue area is not part of the taskbar. The blue area is not around the perimeter of the screen but only below the taskbar.

What type and model monitor and video settings are you using? Especially the refresh rate.

I've never seen Windows put anything under the taskbar, but if the monitor is not aligned properly it can push the display up. Try to use the auto-adjust button on the monitor if it has one.

Monitor adjusted. Works fine now. Thanks!
