i have a usb adaptor mounted to a rooftop parabolic antenna and i would like to use a5m active usb extenshion cable, and then convert to cat5e. is this possible and if so, how do i do it?

Well USb has a max cable length of 16.1 meters so you should be fine there.

And there are multiple usb to Ethernet converters out there. In summation you will need an extension cable and a 15 - 20 $ part. Good luck!
