I deciding to get an 4870 x2, and im not sure which brand to go with, ie Visiontek, Diamond, Asus. Please give me a recommendation and some explanation of why the particular brand is better or the best. Thanks.

i would go for the cheapest but if u want good warranty visiontek offers life time warranty.

If he's getting a 4870X2 i'd say he'll switch cards when the 5870X2 comes out, lol.

Lifetime warranty is sexy, but maybe a 3-5 year is enough (if he doesn't sell his 4870X2 later on, lol).

Anyway, you can go the "more goodies" way or the "more warranty" way. IMO, either is a good path to take.

don't assume he'll get a 5870x2, i got a 2900xt CF last year, but i could only afford a measly 4850 this year... on sale.

if you think you'll upgrade in a years time, you might want to consider the cheap ones, a 2 year warranty should be more than enough

BUT if you dont think you'll upgrade in the foreseeable future, lifetime warranty it is

yeah get the cheap one, as far as I know they are all reference design anyway (except for an OC version)
